Areas

Class areas:

The library has three class areas which may be booked by teachers.  These areas can be booked on the BookIT! system or by contacting the library staff or by emailing the Library. There is also space for up to 10 students in easy chairs around the library. 

 

Area 1 seats 26 students. 

 

Area 2 seats 29 students.

 

Area 3 seats 32 students.

 

Lounge areas have spare seating is available for about 15 students.

 

Offline study students are normally assigned to the spare space or Area 1.

 

Toilets:

There are toilets available for staff and students at the back of the library.

 

Food and drink:

Food and drink may be consumed in the library at any time, but at the discretion of the class teachers during class.  Students are expected to place their rubbish in the bins provided and clean up any spills.

Hot drinks: Hot dinks may be purchased from the desk.  Tea, coffee and hot chocolate drinks are available.  Any surplus funds raised through the sales of hot drinks are donated to charities supported by the College

 

AV technology available

Assignment requirements:

Students may borrow audio visual and digital equipment from the library. 

It is wise to pre-book this equipment.

 

AV: students may borrow any equipment needed for assignment presentations in class.  Equipment available includes:

 

  • DVDs,
  • iPod and MP3 docks and speakers,
  • maps,
  • charts,
  • laptops,
  • personal CD and cassette players,
  • digital projectors,
  • multi media editing,
  • cameras,
  • Kindles.

 

Classrooms have ceiling-mounted data projectors.  External DVD drives are available from the library. If a data projector is required, it can be borrowed from the library.

 

Computer technology available

Assignment requirements:

Photocopying, printing, binding, laminating

Photocopying and printing:

Photocopying and printing facilities are available in the library. 

Costs: Printing is available in the library from all computers including laptops and BYO devices.  All students have about 400 printer pages available to them and may purchase more pages through the Library.

 

Colour photocopying: Colour photocopying is available in the library. 

 

Colour printing: Colour printing is available in the library provided that the print job is sent to the Library Colour printer.

 

Binding: Spiral binding facilities are available for assignments and private work.  There is a two hour turn around on all jobs.  Prices are available at the Library desk.

Laminating: Laminating is available up to A3 size for school and private needs. There is a two hour turn around on all jobs.  Prices are available at the Library desk.
