Parent volunteers

We welcome parent volunteers to work in the library which is upstairs in B Block.

Each year we have wonderful, helpful parent volunteers in the library who undertake a myriad of "little" tasks without which we could not function.

We do not have a roster but fit in with your schedule.

The work is menial, dirty, dusty and does involve some lifting.

How do I volunteer?

Fill in the form at the beginning of the year for volunteering at the College.

Phone or email the library the week before you wish to work with us.

Come in and work on the appointed day.  Please ensure that you sign in at College Reception before coming to the Library.

Parent borrowing

Parents are welcome to borrow resources from the library for short term loan.

Parent information guide to the library

THE LIBRARY: Our dynamic collections provide resources for parents, students and staff, which complement and supplement the curriculum and promote recreational reading.  Students are encouraged to use and borrow a variety of resources from the library including:

·         books,

·         magazines,

·         laptop computers,

·         multimedia projectors,

·         audio,

·         cameras (SLR, video and digital) and

·         access to the Internet.

The library operates on Infiniti, an automated integrated library management program.

The library should be used as an extension of the classroom and similar standards of behaviour are expected. The library is open during term from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm (3:30 pm on Fridays) to give students greatest access to materials.

Students are able to borrow unlimited items for 14 days, fiction 28 days, unless the items are on overnight loan or are part of a frozen collection.  Students must have their I.D. Card to borrow any items.  Parents are also welcome to borrow resources.

Students must return loans by 8.30 am on the due date.  Their borrowing privileges will be withdrawn until they return all overdue items.  If overnight loans are returned late, then no further overnight loans will be available for at least 8 days.  Overdue notices are sent to each student.  Students are visited in class if they have overdue overnight resources.  If the student is absent phone calls will be made to arrange the immediate return of the overnight item

Any student, who loses a resource while it is in his/her name, is responsible for paying the replacement cost.  Stolen resources should be reported to the library immediately.

Library staff make every endeavour to ensure that students have not inadvertently replaced books on shelves, before sending a letter home to you with replacement details of the missing resource.

The class sets are issued at the beginning of the year and each semester.  Students are responsible for the original text with which they are issued, not necessarily the one which they return at the end of the year.  Please ensure that they write their names in their texts.
